I’ve successfully navigated pandemics and financial downturns, re-set strategies, developed sector-leading impact and fundraising partnerships, led complex coalitions across the UK and internationally – often as the charity with the power, the scale, the income, the brand.
I’ve re-centred work on lived experience and purpose when culture had drifted, kept culture anchored to strategy when stakeholder & financial pressures pulled in multiple directions, navigated restructuring, turned multi-million deficits into surpluses, closed services, started new ones, won awards and tackled tough decisions by being anchored in values.
I’ve experienced governance from the Board seat and the Chief Executive seat; the weight of responsibility, the balance of providing support and challenge in equal measure, and what good governance looks like under pressure – as well as when things are flying.
I know what happens when culture drifts from values, when stakeholders disengage, when partnerships are performative not genuine, and how to bring people back to what matters.
My expertise comes from hard-won experience – where things have worked brilliantly and where not all the right things were on my radar at the right time.
